Books
A lot of people are listing books they’ve read in the past year which is neat and has given me a great list to work off of myself. I’ve often wished that I had kept track of all the books I’ve read in my life. Maybe just my early adult life until now (certainly don’t need all those Sweet Valley High and Babysitter’s Club books in there) to see how many I’ve...
2010 & 2011
Inspired by a lot of you wonderful ladies, here are 10 things I did in 2010:
1. Turned 30 2. Got a promotion 3. Went to Phoenix for a Bachelorette party and drank NA wine on accident 4. Passed 2 Exams of 8 (4 down total) towards my career’s designation 5. Won an award at work, was sent to NY to schmooze with my company’s president 6. Had a Pirate Pizza Party for a 1 year old 7....
How was I gone for 4 days of work and I’m already caught up on everything and now bored? Is it time to brush up my resume and start looking?
Christmas Wrap-up
Have you ever been on vacation with another family? Its fun but its difficult as well. They just do things differently. Now try going on vacation with your in-laws and your toddler. It’s supposed to be nice but at some moments it feels like you’re stuck in hell.
I shouldn’t complain. And it was actually a very nice time overall - but I should have been wearing my teeth...
Currently on my very first flight with wifi - thanks ATA! Left the Trader and Sammy in Marco for 2 more days because I have to go back to work. Looking forward to some quiet alone time. This will be the longest amount of time that I’ve had to myself since Sammy was born in June 2009. Crazy. I already miss both of them but I’m sure somehow I’ll enjoy myself!

Books
Going on a plane with a toddler for 3 hours. There is a SLIGHT possibility that he may fall asleep and I may have time to read. Any good book suggestions? Beach books much appreciated. Thanks!
Serious Question
How EXACTLY do you order a Chipotle burrito - what do you get on it?
I’ve never gotten my order down to where I love what I’m eating so I’m looking for suggestions.
Being pregnant and at the mercy of other people’s food whims sometimes is hard!
Weekend Update
The G’s (some of the) Family Christmas Edition!
Friday ~ We had our (totally lame) Christmas lunch at work. Seriously, we used to have a party with open bar at Soldier Field and this year there was a guy and a guitar, brisket, mashed potatoes and cookies - my how times have changed. Anyway they also let us out at 1 which was great. Picked up Sammy and went to the Mag Mile to see the...
Good night, sweet boy
I am the youngest of 4. There are 2 girls and a boy ahead of me - the oldest is 10 years older than I am. To say that I was a surprise and my parents were tired by the time I came along was an understatement. I was a surprise (a good one nonetheless) and they were tired. I remember reading books, watching shows or movies or even hearing my older siblings talk about traditions or routines and I...
Matta Question
How did you all hear about Matta scarves? I feel like everyone I follow has one or loves them but I never heard about them until now. Looking back I guess I did see them on some celebs but I never saw them in person or in an actual store. Where do you get them - other than online? ie have you seen them in Department stores or boutiques? Just curious!
Insurance
My bi-weekly insurance payments for next year are going up 15%.
Guarantee I will not get a 15% raise.
Since the Trader is self employed I buy all the Health Insurance for our family so my paycheck while still decent is way less than I’d like it to be. And now it is just going to get worse!
BOO!
End rant for the day.
Girl and the Goat review
The restaurant was very cool looking. I definitely dug that. And our waiter was awesome! My problem was with the food. Now I am not a health nut (see previous 1,000 posts on pizza) nor was I expecting to just eat a salad but both the Trader and I felt disgusting after leaving here. Maybe it’s our fault and what we ordered but everything was SO oily. It was good (at least the first 2 or...
Weekend Update
Friday ~ You guessed it - Pizza and a movie!
Saturday ~ Early breakfast date at Yolk then Target with Sammy. I LOVE going to Target right when it opens. No one is there and it is like your own little playground. Puzzles, lunch and naps after Target. Then Date night with the Trader. We got an early reservation at The Girl and the Goat (review to follow) then saw The Tourist at my home away...
Coconut oil
Where to get it?
What kind?
And how to use it? Thanks!
My Christmas Elf
So I just sent my mom up to her local mall to pick up gift cards for each of my siblings. This is what happens when you procrastinate and then plan on leaving town for Christmas therefore making it impossible to get your gifts for people and get them TO the people. I used to be so good at buying gifts. Sometimes I would have them in the summer and have to wait until Christmas to give them.
I...
Secret Santa
I got my boss’s boss’s boss for our secret santa.
Our Price limit is $20.
She’s a 40 yo woman with 3 kids, likes music and is pretty cool.
Lives in Bucktown.
What do I get her?
I throw my Latkes in the air sometimes!

Dear Everyone. This is a letter from us.
There is a lot I feel like I should include with this post. So much to say. But all that can wait. For now, we just want to share our news with you all. You know old quote “When it rains - it pours?” Well, I guess you could say we’re in the middle of joyful hurricane.
Love,
M

Believeland
Tonight is a big night in Cleveland. It shouldn’t be, but it is. LeBron James, “the king”, “the annointed one” is returning to the Q and Cleveland after breaking up with her (it?) on National TV. I haven’t watched one Cavs game this year but you can bet that I will have TNT on for this one.
While I sincerely hope that Clevelanders keep it classy - I also hope...
Ramshackle Glam (Tumblr): Best Wallets →
ramshackleglam:
Wallets are one of those things that I think it’s OK to splurge on a bit. Why? Because you use them daily, well-made ones last for years, and…it’s fun to have a cute wallet. I’ve had the same BCBG wallet for five years now, and I love it - but it may be time for an upgrade.
(And of course they…
In LOVE with the Proenza Schouler wallet thanks to Tumblr-rs. However got...
